Home made cfl reflector
I'm using an iPad at the moment and can not upload pics or i would.
Over the weekend I bought a 10 pack bottle of Budweiser (but any brand will do suppose). I drank it and was fiddling about with with packaging. I unfastened it so it was flatish on the table and I thought that kind of looks like a hanging reflector.
The beauty of this is it's so easy and it works. with the design side of the carboard facing up so you can see it. I stuck brown tape over them on each side, which provides the perfect way to attach the foil on the other side (plain brown cardboard side) the foil sticks to tape through the finger holes. I trimmed each end of the packaging (about half inch either end) and same again layed tape over the pre-made holes on each end and on the other side attached foil.
I happened to have strong foil that was the exact width of the packaging. Result.
I cut and x through the middle of the packaging and threaded an E40 lead/plug through it. The ceramic part (where you'll attach the cfl light bulb) is big and strong enough the support the reflector. Screw in cfl and Bobs your uncle you have a home made E40 reflector.
Quick and easy. I'm gonna fiddle about more later on (i don't really need it at the mo, but it is impressive for a 2 minute effort and 10 beers) i may make the cfl rest horizontal on metal struts later, instead f vertical as it is at the moment.

fine, I finally strapped on a giant cfl to it. it looks great. feels a bit flimsy but does the job and reduces weight and i'm able to manipulate the angles ofnthe reflector by bending it.
I'm not a cfl user I'm an LED person but if you can't afford a reflector make this.

And then if you use small cfl's as well you can use the now empty beer cans to make mini reflectors
This is one hell of a good justification for a piss up

look it's good quality foil paper ok ... and it's resting on the ceramic screw not on the plastic of the bulb. don't hate the playa. please.

Hey!! if you only want the box for a lamp reflector then give the beer to me.
i promise i will give it a nice home and promise to look after it for about 10 minutes before i beast in to it and get pished......wreck the flat..........kick fuck out of
my girlfriend.......hammer a couple of the neighbours next door with a golf club........battle with the cops.........strangulate my lawyer cos i have been remanded in custody and generally have a great time......hic.
get the large water fire extinguisher off the wall in prison and empty it, steal some sugar, yeast and apples from the prison kitchens, mash it all together stick it in the extinguisher with water and let it ferment, drink it and wreck my cell, kick fuck out of.... and bugger a few inmates......attack the screws with a bedleg.......

Lol! But seriously Mr France - very nice idea for anyone on a budget. And i'd also add that off-cuts of Mylar would work as good as foil, or failing that just paint it with Brilliant Matt White Paint.
