Default Please Help Me Mod My Crane Digital Humidifier RIU.... Any Suggestion Appreciated!!!

So the scenario is that the room I have my flowering tent and veg cab in runs in the 20 to 30% humidity range almost all year long and I prefer the room to be in the 40 to 60% range. 45 to 55% is what I like and never over 65% which messes with my filter system and so I use a humidifier in my flowering tent and at this time I'm using a Crane Model Ee-8064, (Link goes to Amazon). The problem is it's wearing thin waking up every morning to make sure this suckers still full and running, so I was wondering if any of the RIU Grow Room section contributors has any advice on what I could get away with as in adding an external tank. I'd like to avoid using a pump, and was thinking of just drilling a hole in the tank and adding a line connected to a bucket suspended above the humidifier but I get the feeling I might really screw up the way it works, i.e extra water pressure from the mod in the system or something like that. I'm not married to this device. I got it in a shipping mix up, but it works very, very well and I also use it in the summer with a fan to cool off the grow area, sort of like that machine the NFL uses on those hot game-days in Arizona for example, which is also why I keep it in the tent. So the desire to keep using it is there, but the desire to go away for a few days without worrying about coming home to a desert is there too. So what would you folks do if you wanted to mod this humidifier for getting more water capacity than it's 1.2 gallons? Any advice?

    Thanks and Happy Growing RIU!

a bucket next to it tapped in should work. Make to the same height. Water will seek its own lever and drain each equally.

Have a great one. Advice is for folks with a legal grow and worth what you paid for it.

Thanks Coho I'm thinking the same thing. It's got a valve so I guess it's just finding the right height and gauge of hose.
