    Just noticed that my ballast seems really cold when touching it, which make me wonder if its working correctly or not. Before noticing he ballast i noticed that my HPS bulb seems like its not giving off much heat as well, i can put my hand about 4 inches away from it and only just feel the heat from it. Do you think the ballast could be broken or not ? The light still works but its just doesn't feel like its giving off as much heat as it did do.

    Any Help ? or advice ?

    Is the hood for your lamp aircooled? I can lay my hands right under my 1000's on the glass with no problem......I don't know shit about digi ballasts though....that does sound weird.....stick to magnetic .

    Hope it's under warrenty bro!

    its the maxibright 600w mk3 ballast, the hood is not aircooled. Only had the setup from new for about 4 weeks

    If it's firing the bulb and it's lighting up, it's probably fine. Ballasts generally last a long time. Bulbs are a different story.....

    if the bulb is not working correctly would this cause the ballast to be running cooler ?
