Ok so here is my situation so far:

I am planning, very soon, on doing TWO 4X4 tent grows with 600W HPS in each. Following is what I am thinking of ordering so far:

I am planning on keeping the lights air cooled and seperate from the general ventilation of the tent - 6" ducting coming in from outside the tent and into input of hood...then out the tent and want both tent's bulb-cooling outputs going to a "Y" splitter and being exhausted by the same (inline) fan, for which I will have a speed controller. Same setup for general ventilation except the addition of an active carbon filter on the end and a bigger fan.

Is the 240 CFM fan with speed control adequate to keep the lights cool? If not what would be?

The tents are 7' tall so have an area of 112 each...so 224 cubic feet total between the two. Is the 400 CFM fan enough to ventilate the two? If not what would be and what interval ratio would you recommend I run it (OFF 4mins ON 2mins, etc.)?

Would a 470 CFM carbon can be sufficient for both these tents?

Does anyone have experience with these tents? Is there anything they don't come with that they should/ I should need?

Sorry for a million questions but I am very excited and don't yet have any experience actually growing indoors because I haven't had a chance/private space until now.

those 240cfm duct booster are 240 boosted air and 160cfm standing..i got 1 and when u get it, it says it on the fan itself. i have 1 single duct booster cooling my 400w in a 3x3 tent. but temps outside havent really been over 75F...good luck sounds like a good set up.

Yeah and that fan is louder than my 530CFM fan. It does a good job at cooling my 600watters

I am not sure about 600 watts but my 1000 watt 5x5 tent has (3) 6" Max-Fans that are 340 CFM. 1 is for my light and the other 2 are for ventilation, 1 for intake and 1 for exhaust. Don't go cheap on the fans unless you don't care about noise or a warranty.

Sounds like too little, also what size diameter ducting? For (2) 600 watt lights in a row, which is what I am assume you are talking about, I would go with nothing smaller than 6" for 2 lights and 8" for 3 or more. You are also probably going to want at least 300 CFM to cool those lights. I am using a 6" Max-Fan (340 CFM) that is used to just cool my (1) 1000 watt light so I don't think you would get adequate cooling with 240 CFM and (2) 600's, just my two cents.

I am using 6" ducting because that is the flange size on the hoods. How quiet are the Max-Fans? Quietness is VERY important in this setup.

Max-Fans are pretty quiet, not whisper quiet, but pretty quiet. Another thing that will help with noise is insulated ducting, it acts like a muffler. That really made my fans quiet!

Wrap a sleeping bag around the centrifugal fan, Ive seen it done in pictures but havnt tested personally. The only possible issue I see is -IF- the fan itself generates enough heat to cause problems with the sleeping bag. They do make sound-proof-ish "board" at Home Depot thats not too shabby but moot in a tent setup.
