75w Hps Or 150w Hps?? - Page 3

I grow with a 150w HPS that I bought from RONA Ill probably switch to a 400 when I can, but for now with my little closet space the 150 is great. I vegged a single plant for a month and flowered at 2', I was amazed with the results

No. This is wrong. Do some research and figure it out. The 400W comparison is to incandescent, not HID.

a 125w CFL puts down about the same light as a 70w HPS.

you people are all sheep........cfls are not more bang for your buck.....hid is the way to go....the amount of cfls you need to match the light output of hid is more costly to buy and opperate...and the myth that cfls run cooler than hid....b.s....sure one cfl doesnt put out much heat...but when you are shoving 12 23w cfls in a 1x1 it gets pretty warm...just as warm as the hid that is equal in power and lumens.......

don't lump me in with them, maing.

there is a time and a place for CFLs, but over 150W or so is not it. if you want to talk about what's best for 1-2 plants, that may be a conversation, but above that it's just a pointless argument ...

im telling ya.......i keep seeing these guys posting pictures of 12 or more cfls and taliking about" how much energy they are saving" and "hid is too hot i run cfls they are so much cooler...btw my temps are over 95 anyone have any ideas"...yeah cfl is great for 1 plant or a mother and clone set-up....but if you want the best bang for your buck..hid is the way to go....

I do both. 150watt HPS up top and 24 inch T5 flouros mounted vertically in each of the corners. Seems to be more than enough for one plant. I will see how it works for more plants when I start growing some flowers after this harvest. I won't be need'n for a while. I guessing 20 grams off a single lowrdyer 2.

yeah for about 3 x 1.5 i have 150W HPS + 252W fluoro, which is great.
