I am running 6k overhead and then run 3 600's verticle down the middle row, It is a sealed room horizontal lights are air cooled, verticles are not. 24k BTU split AC keeping it cool...
im a first time grower and i was wondering what would be the best lighting setup for my 10'x10' flowering room.. can anyone help a brotha out???!!! lol

i started with 4x1k now i got 6x1k watter all aircooled u should be good with 4x1k or 8-9x600w
Do you even want to use the whole 10x10? Do you need any of it for reservoirs, fans, dehumidifier, etc..?
Then I think it depends on how many plants you want to grow and how much of a budget you have. If you can build it how you want then I would suggest taking the best advantage that you can of the lights you are going to use. A 600w light has a footprint of 4x4 and a 1000w of 5x5. So, if you had a plant space of 8x8 then 4 600w lights would be perfect. Even in 6x8 those 4 600w lights would be fine. Check out the thread in my signature and I'll help you design something if you want.
I would scale back those foot print sizes.in reality, the powerful light is in a 3.5 x 3.5 pattern for a 600 and a 4 x 4 for a 1000. Depends on the hood really, but those are the references you see printed in all the grow books.
I would throw 4 1k's in there with shallow and wide hoods. Two rows 4 foot wide and a small isle between them.
Everything that I write in this forum is true. I grow marijuana in my basement and all those pictures I post are from my house. It is not fictional, it is not for entertainment, it's real.
I did some tests based on this chart that I found a few years back and it seemed to be spot on.

No. For the best results you should keep your 1000w lights cool enough so that you can keep them 18" from your plants. If you can do this then the optimal footprint is 56" x 65". That means that all plants in that area are receiving the optimal level of of footcandles.
