Hello, new here and am anxious for a few tips on setting up the charcoal filter.
the one I have purchased is the CAN-FILTER 2600 100/4in and a 4" RVK100 A1 175m3/hour. extractor fan. I have the necessary ducting also. I have just been to install it all and I have noticed that there is only a flange on one end of the charcoal filter, the other end has a black plate with holes in it. How do I actually ( and the proper way) fit it all together. I can see I can atatch the fan to the filter by using the flange and some ducting but what happens at the end where the holes are, doesn't seem possible to atatch any 4 inch ducting to it to send the air outside of my room. Hope I have made myself clear enough and await some help. Thanks DaveM |

Aha, have searched a few sites and realise that the fan is connected directly to the filter and then the ducting goes on the back end of the fan. So the air is actually sucked through the filter not through the fan then the filter.
well, hope I am right |

Hello, well I have finally installed my charcoal filter and new fan, and I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to let me know if I have got it set up correctly.
I am a little concerned as I tried smoking a ciggie in the room and blowing smoke towards the filter and it didn't seem to be sucked out. I remeoved the ducting to the rear of the fan and it sure was sucking air out, maybe I am just a little over concerned. Have attatched this pic. Thanks DaveM

looks good but remember the more bends you have in your ducting the slower your air is going to pull through... so you might just want to try and straighten things out a little more for efficiency

Het Bamm Bamm, as you know this is my first time grow using the filter and this rvk fan, is this set up still ample enough to remove the heat from my room, I have a 4in fan pulling air in from the bottom of the room also ?
