Closet setup help

currently right now i have a 400w hps/mh fixture it doesn't seem to be getting too hot in my closet because its not completely air-tight should i make it air tight, and or add ventilation anyways temp seems to be about 70-80 degrees. its definitely not any hotter than that, and also i have hardwood in my closet anything special i should line the floor with ect? any input is wonderful thanks

also about how far away should i have my fixture away from plants? 1-2 feet?

Hey there, your temps seem good, try to keep towards 73, 74. I would definatley put something down on the floor for protection. Use like a large piece of mylar or heavy plastic. Do you have a fan in there for circulation? If you aren't worried about the smell or light leakage, no need to be air tight.

yeah i just have one of those cheap oscillating fans from target ect. not really worried about smell, but should i be worried about light leakage? as of right now i have my plants sitting on some of those big rubbermaid tub lids so that the water will run out onto those, im definitely down to get mylar for the floor, but what do i do about water runoff from the pots? i cant just let it ruin a good hardwood floor? any kind of pad or anything that i can set my shit on that will absorb/ retain runoff water? i am growing in soil in pots just a heads up so im not really sure where to go from here............... save me someone

walmart or wherever will have little trays for pots. whats the size of your closet?

i have a sunmaster 2 hood from sun systems, the dimensions of the closet is
5 1/2 feet wide x 3 foot deep by 8 foot tall

what kind of living situation are you in? parents house? apartment? roommates? if you feel unsafe in any way about someone seeing that light, then you should take care of light leaks asap. you can use caulk, weatherstripping, duct tape, whatever really.

as for the floor, i wouldnt use mylar. its kind of a waste. just go to the hardware store and get some 2mil plastic drop cloths and tape them to the floor. itll make cleaning up spills real easy.

and for your run-off, any garden store will carry saucers for the bottom of your pots.

as of right now i live with my father, and he knows that i am a medicinal marijuana patient. im not worried about him seeing light as he has already seen it . and it usually is sleeping right now since im in the flowering stage with some of my plants so i can rule out the neighbors seeing it so i guess im cool
