Hey guys, im interested in building a mini fridge veg area for some plants then move them into my bigger flowering box.

First thing first, I gutted out my mini fridge (was gonna toss it anyway).
Next thing I need to know is how to Convert the cables from the power supply to power lights, Is this possible? I know little bit about lighting.

My main idea on this is to power everything with the power supply. Keep it quiet with Comp fans, but enough power for lights..

Any ideas or comments are welcome here. I would really like to make this work.. Thanks alot... Ill post some pics up in abit when I get everything ready.

power lights from the power supply? not sure i understand, as in power the lights with the cables coming off the power supply? if thats what you meant good luck, those cables carry a DC voltage only not like the AC going into it from the wall. Led's are powered by a DC current so you could do that but i have no knowledge at all in growing with Led's. What would work is to splice an extension cord into the wire going into the wire from the wall to the power supply, But if you do this be careful!!! that 120 AC current will shock the shit out of you {could kill ya}. Let me know if this makes sense to you, i may need to explain better.

I had the same problem, with my PC Growbox. This is what I ended up doing. First off, depending on how close you are to an outlet, get a large powerstrip (with outlets as far spaced from eachother as possible, youll see why ) ... Then, go to wal-mart or home depot and you could purchase light socket wall adapters. They are little circle things that you screw onto the end of a lightbulb, and on the other side there are 2 prongs to plug into an outlet. So you could get around 6 CFL's, 6 of those plugs, and do it that way. Just plug directy into your wall... For fans, just use an old cell phone charger etc.... if you need more help with wiring or I didnt completely answer ur question, just pm me ill be happy to help!! GL

P@ssw0rd , Thanks for stopping by. Yes you answerd my question. Pretty much I wanted to run everything from the power sup(CFL's / Fans). I know I could do LED's but I have no idea how to wire those. Most of all the LED's I checked out were very expensive.

harvest time, Thanks for the advice. I think im going to have to go with the standard Lights, Powerstrip and Fan for the mini fridge grow. But im going to try out your idea since it would save me alot of space for this setup.

I havent had time to work on this setup more, but I will be posting pics of the setup once I have everything I need..

If anyone has advice about LED's please throw it down on this thread.

how many plants can u fit in ur pc grow box? and how much does each plant yeild in it? i have a subwoofer box about the same size, and i have 3 white widow seeds in the germ stage for now
