    Default Any1 tried-LUMii 600w - 400w Dual Core Ballast

hey folks be interested to hear if any1 tried these out-considerin only £70 be guid if they do as they say
The new range of vented magnetic ballasts from LUMii comprises: 400 watt ballast, 600 watt ballast and a switchable ballast that allows you to choose between 400 watt and 600 watt in the same unit. All of the LUMii ballasts are compact, quiet running, reliable, use quality components housed in a fire resistant casing and feature a 1 metre mains lead and a flying IEC lead for added safety. They are also cool running due to the use of digital pulse ignition. Other ballasts on the market claim that they are 400 watt or 600 watt, but when tested they produce less power. This is because some brands cut costs by using inferior components or by reducing the amount of copper in the windings – resulting in less power, less lighting output and smaller yields. When using a LUMii you can have peace of mind that the power stated is what you will get, no corners cut just optimum growing results. If you want flexibility then choose the LUMii Dual Core Ballast, offering dual power levels of 600 watt down to 400 watt. Built to the same standards as the LUMii 400 watt and the LUMii 600 watt ballasts, it gives you two ballasts in one. Always use the correct wattage of lamp to the power selected. We recommend a 400 watt lamp running at 400 watt will offer better spectral output than a 600 watt lamp at reduced power.

you can use HPS and MH light bulbs, but make sure there are the right wattage!! did you have the ballast turned on with no light connected? if so it will heat up as the power has nowhere to go, (ithink) hence the heat.......

i bought one a few weeks ago, 600w adjustable, had it set to 250w for veg, made a huge diffence in that few weeks. now i have turned it to 400w until it stops streaching. i will then up it to 600w for the majority of the grow with the final few weeks at 660w. this is how i think it it used but have found very little info to say thats correct. so any further input from anyone would be sweet,
i have found no problems so far with this ballast, i am using a adjustable wing in a 1mx1mx2m tent i have 2 30ltr tubs growing S.A.G.E and having great results so far, i was using a 400w HPS in a cool tube before with good results but want a significant difference this ballast would make,

anyone used a MH light for veg peroid and what it was like?
