any possible way to make an aircooled space for my cfls? they are all at the top of my cab, can i just put glass under them seal it and then vent out that top section that the CFLs are in?

anyone ever done this? also does glass slow down the intensity of the lights?

as the light has to pass through something, it will lose some intensity, but not a lot, im probably wrong here but i think its no more than 5%. honestly, i dont think all this is needed for CFLs, just keep the whole thing nice and ventilated, aim a small fan toward the bottom of the light if youre that worried about its heat, but it shouldnt be a problem unless the plants are pretty much touching it.

just my opinion though, never had a CFL burn a leaf unless i accidentally let it grow into the light.

Cooling CFLs wow u dont even need to do that. and if you really want to hydrofarm sells an air cooled CFL hood.

i can only have 6 lights on at a time and the temp is still around 84*
tell me i don't need a cooling system or tell me how to change my current setup.

add some ventalation... cut some holes in the walls and puit 2 computer fans in ther... an air cooled hood for cfls would be a joke

you just need a bigger out take fan or ad another one and that will bring temps down
