I use mylar. You can find it at Lowes. I know some people who have even used those emergency camping blankets and they worked well too. I guess second best would be to paint your walls flat white. I don't worry about the floor because the plants will block out all the light anyway. I would not use aluminum foil. It may cause hot spots.

Default White
white is the best for any kind of plants. if mylar kinks or gets creased it can burn you plants from making a light reflection on one part of the plant. I recommend White or Getting Bubble foil from home depot because that cant crease easily.

use marine white paint. mylar is good but unless you are perfect at putting it up, it wrinkles and gets dirty. paint you can wipe off. Try to wipe off mylar...Marine white reflects just as good or better.

Matte white. Super-White if available. Best diffusion/return of light. Lights plants from many angles, no hot spots, all good.

The very best is a material known as lighting reflective covering. Its rated at 99.9% reflective but its exspensive. Then would be 3 mil mylra then 1 mil mylar, then flate white paint, then at home depot they make an heating insulation wrap that comes in rolls and is also xray and ir reflective but only rates at about 80% reflectivity and cost some bucks also.If you have a large grow room like 8x8 or bigger the flate matte white paint is the way to go with about a 95% reflectivity use matte not gloss..Never ever use aluminum foil and the wal mart emergency blankets well thats not mylar it llok like it but its designed to let light pass though then to retain the heat so it doesnt reflect to well and will hold in heat its a last resort for reflective purposes but has its uses..sincerely FilthyFletch
