    Question DIY air box help

    I am wanting to build one of the air boxs I see on here all the time and am wondering if anyone has any specs or info for me. I have 5 1000w dimmable HPS lights and a large carbon filter with 2 740 CFM can fans and 2 470cfm fans. PLEASE help I am trying to do it right!

    I think the boxs are for squirel cage fans, not vortex fans? I may be wrong.

    I know this doesnt answer your question but if you use insulated duct and mount your fans on rubber it quiets them down alot.

    thanks I just didnt know if it helps with smell or cooling thats the only reason I was interested in one

    Ive mainly seen them in UK grow set ups. Ive heard the box/squirel cage set up is quieter than a vortex but I cant confirm. I do know that a small fan running at max rpm is louder than a larger fan running at low rpm, both pulling the same cfm.
