| | Good luck to you and your grow! | | Hi there LoudBlunts, I would recommend using some cfl's for your mother and clone chamber as they are efficient and don't cost that much, I'm growing and flowering using cfl's .. a lot of them actually.. Quote: |
okay another idea...what if i go get one of them cheap mh/hps systems from lowes or walmart everbody be talking about
| Quote: i've heard anywhere from 50watt, 70watt, 150 watt | Those lights that people are speaking of are basically a waste of time and money, why not buy a cheap 175w hps or higher for flowering.. http://www.htgsupply.com/growlighttypes.asp?categoryID=1&subcategoryID=155 Good luck to you and your grow! |

| | well, the one grow on here using the 70 watter looked pretty impressive to me. why not use the 70 for mother and clones and get a mh/hps 400 combo (interchangeable) for veg and flower. would work just fine.. in the end, whatever works ... works. |

| | for both chambers?
cool thas only 740 watts (600 digi with 2 - 70 watts)
and it wouldnt be smart to veg under a hps or would it? or should i just get 2 of those 70 watters and get 2 mh conversion bulbs? |

| | moms and clones do best with low amounts of light. like one 23w cfl per plant, or one per tray of clones (one of your cabs).
you want your moms to stretch a bit to get the best cuttings with long stems. you want your cuttings to have low light, so they root instead of continuing trying to grow....
imo, if you can get a small enough fixture, t12 tubes would be your best bet, one cool (daylight) and one warm (kitchen and bath) per chamber. |

| | Have ya got any pics? | | Right on, didn't know you already had a flower chamber with hps, very cool, looks like you have things pretty much figured out, I still recommend some cfl's for the mothers and clones.. as kindprincess stated you don't need that much light for them. Do you plan on keeping a journal on this grow? cause I would love to keep up on it... I'm thinking about doing a SOG but in dirt... PS: have ya got any pics? |

| | I am the worlds worst cloner! | | I am the worlds worst cloner but for your space you don't need that much light, in your intro it states that both chambers are the same size but in your diagram it shows the cloning chamber to be smaller? If it were me I would use the lowest watt possible for the cloning chamber as clones need a lot less light, I'd say one 15 - 20w for the cloning chamber and one 40 - 42 watt for the mother chamber, or using a y connecter use a couple 20's as they are less expensive (depending on where you buy them) Be sure to have some sort of reflective material or paint the inside white of your mother chamber, this will help the overall growth, I don't see any reason why you'd have to do the same for the cloning chamber as they need less light and won't be in there long, I'm assuming... Hope this helps, also check out my journal when you get the chance, I'm 33 days into flowering using 100% cfls.. Humboldt's Growing Adventures! Up & Away!

| | yea humboldt that was my fuck up man...i was still deciding on which is better.... im prolly leaning towards more mother room height.... thas why i havent put or installed a shelf in that chamber yet...
i plan on housing about 6-8 mothers and i want some pretty nice size clones.... around 6-8inches....i wanna drop them straight into flower...
lately ive just been thinking smaller height room for daughters...more for mothers...
i think imma put like 3-4 20watt something cfls for my daughters and using 3-4 42 watters for my mothers....
i've already painted half the closet....i was just gon paint everything white then put mylar up in my flowering chamber while leaving the mothers and daughter room bright white.....
and on humboldt....little do you know...i've been checking on you for a minute now...just havent said anything in the thread...im pretty impressed with those cfl...looks like you've almost dialed in.... just because i dont say anything doesnt mean im not watching
and last but not least...i wanna thank filthyflitch too...great dudes man | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
