Switching to SOG Questions (Pics)

Alright, I am vegging four WW's currently. I think for next grow I am going to take as many clones as I can and do a SOG. My closet that I am growing in has the potential for tall plants, but since I don't have ventilation, I have to keep my 430 hps about 20 inches from the plants. This obviously cuts off a lot of space...

So the dimensions of the closet are as follows.48" W 28" L 65" H but can be expanded by 32" if I put my hangers in the ceiling and drop my light down from there. So I could have a total height of 8 ft, but there is a shelf in the way which I think would block almost half of the canopy. I think I would have to drop my light down close enough to that shelf (at 65") to let the light go below it.

So I have a couple questions. Do you think SOG would be the best way to go for me? I am looking to yield around 5 oz's per harvest, but anything over that would be great.

My biggest question is, How many plants should I try to fit in my grow space? I think I will be using 1 gallon pots as I read most people do for SOG. Let me know what you guys think.

Jondog, if you put all your power in to it you could almost get 5oz of one plant. Will need some more light tho.

But if you go with the SOG then use square pots, you kind of need to have a veg section to keep your moms going.

5 oz off one plant sounds yummy. Even with a SOG grow people get that much? Thanks for telling me about square pots. I am thinking I could get at least 8-12 plants in there. 8 would probably be enough as long as I yield at least 1 oz off each. That would be perfect. As for the moms, I was thinking of keeping them outside my closet in a cabinet where I would put them and my clones under 24/7 t5's. The cabinet I am looking into is only about 3 ft tall though, and I don't know if a mom would fit in there.

Any suggestions for making a cheap cabinet or what size I would need for one mother WW and about 10 clones?

you can always buy a small little 2 door/ 2 draw file cabinet and strip out the insides. plenty of space

I was saying if you just grew a few bigger plants you could get more if done right. Ive used old speakers as veg boxes b4. old mini frig.
