grow room/box idea

i took some pictures of the area that i'm gonna be growing in eventually, unfortunately my camera phone doesn't allow me to upload them onto my computer and i can't send them to the computer because it's not email-capable lol. anyway, i'm using a gutted 3-drawer rubbermaid storage cart as a grow box (picture below) and i'm going to be putting it inside the crawlspace at the foot of my bed. i don't know exact specs yet because i can't find my tape measure, but this is what i'm dealing with:

1. the grow box is 24"H x 21.75"W x 15.25"D (is that too small does anyone think?) obviously i'll be paiting and covering the clear and white spots on the cart so no light escapes.
2. the crawlspace entrance is pretty big, i could get in there any time i need to tend to the plant.
3. the area in which i'll be growing is about 3 1/2 feet long and about 3 feet high.
4. the style house i live in was built so that the crawlspaces are built into the roof. ventilation is no problem considering the spaces are so close to the outside and i'm guessing that virtually no smell can come through the cart, walls, roof, etc. plus i'll be getting a carbon filter to eliminate or at least reduce the smell.

any comments? ideas? i'd really love some advice.

good way to start germing and for little seedlings, but will be too small in the end. i am using something of similar size right now, and it is going to be to small.

you'll have to do some mad LSTing and go into flower early. like when plants are 6-7" tall max.

gl it can be done with some work and reading.

yeah i figured that would be the case. i'm gonna try what whatapothead said about flowering early because i'm really only looking for a little bit to start me off. once i actually stop planning and start growing i'm gonna begin with one plant. if i like it, if i decide that i have the time and patience, i'll do more and more.

that's actually a good idea i didn't realize that you can go into flowering early. any more info on that do you know?

i just know its possible and you'll obviously get smaller yields but like schmalls i just grow for myself and it works out. LST helps though too, giving you more buds. Some argue that flowering before a plant is mature doesn't give you potent bud but i'd have to disagree with that. As long as you got a nice setup with a good light power and color spectrum it'll all work out.
