| | Could use any advice | | This is going to be my 9th grow but first soil grow. I just moved to an apartment from a house i use to rent. In the house I had I had 2 spare bedrooms to grow in but in my apartment I have none . So I was bored yesterday and was hunting for a place to grow yada yada yada and I came across an ideal hidden passage way thing in my living room closet. The area is about 7 feet long by 4 feet wide but the height is tapered cause its under the eve's. The space is a triangle where the highest point is 7 feet. Ive enclosed some pics. Cause of the height issue i'm going to do a scrog. Ive never done a scrog before using soil and starting from seed ive always used clones. The seeds are Feminised Nevilles Haze. Gorgeous buds good color and amazing smoke by the way. Now I was thinking about using 2 24 gallon rubbermaids as my planters and then just boxing in the area it take up. For lighting I doubt I can use any of my 1000w lights so Im going to put my 250w switchable and 4 65w CFL's. Now cause of the width issue I cant do a constant cycle and have to start from scratch after every grow. Anyone got any ideas and can anyone think of anything im missing? I do say though this is the perfect stealth spot. Thanks Guys |

| | wow guys kinda disappointed in rollitup. offers on advice usually are met with at least more than 1 reply in 4 - 5 days. Seems to me that at least someone would have an idea for a nice virgin grow room in the making |

| | Come up with your own ideas you lazy bitch!
Seriously though Id build a wood frame drain tub by slapping 4 2by's into a 6 x 3 box on casters maybe 6 - 10 inches high with a pond liner covered with cheapo grated shelving. Whole shebang boxed off with mylar covered insulation panels. Two 400 watt lights be a perfect 3x3 + 3x3 = 6x3 cover area to grow out 8 decent seed start plants in 3 gallons spaced about 6 in apart 4 under each light. This would give you a bit of clear on the sides, and you would not have any height issues with a ~4-5 ft max ht for your plants. Id say only 8 becus seed starts need to get bigger than clones bfore budding and put them in 3 gallons over a drain bay for ease of access. This way, even if rolling the caster bay out to access the plants to tie them down/water/fertilize them is too much, moving 8 3 gallons out to work on/restuff seems easier to me than a couple 24 gallon rubbermaid planters. And now im guilty of racketeering and conspiracy because i gave you advice in draconian prisonland. be gratefaul and bow down, and if you dont like my idea stuff it |

It's light, so it grows. But it's not enough. Your plants are likely to soon topple over under their own weight, and die.
Sorry to be so blunt about it, but this is the mistake most first-time growers make when they just throw some seeds in dirt and expect chronic. Read and research before your next attempt, and you'll be all set. Good luck.

You could transplant them now or later into a larger pot... Remove the bottom leaves if it has a few nodes, and put the new soil over it- these will become secondary roots to help anchor your plant once they're under. This serves the purpose of covering up the stretch and using it to your advantage, and it give the plant a fighting chance.
You can then get a fan to blow some air on it... Just make sure you transplant before you do this, or the blowing air might make it topple over. The blowing air simulates the wind it would receive outside, forcing the stem to grow stronger and thicker. Then switch out some your incadescent for some new CFLs (notice that is plural)- the strongest ones you can get. They use less energy (watts), so you can put much larger bulbs with more lumen output into a standard socket. Keep the lights 2-4 inches from your plant, and you're set. They produce less heat than incadescents, so they shouldn't burn your plant. As you can see, they're better overall- and they produce much more light your plant can use for the vegetative stage. You can pick up the spiral CFLs anywhere lights are sold.
Hope that helps.
