Thread: Help Request for Filter set up ideas

I have my hands on a lot of free materials due to my mother and her boyfriend being massive garbage collectors. I have a massive amount of PVC pipes, plenty of tape, screen, and home burned charcoal.
I am looking for some ideas of a good home made carbon filter. If you have pictures or schematics I would highly appreciate that too for ideas. I would also like some links to items I may need like particular fans for perfect venting (I SHOP AT LOWES) closest hardware store to me. I currently have an extremely horrid fan drawing air out at about 50cfm through 2" PVC.

I tried to throw something together for a temp as my plants are about 3 weeks and are gettin some major dank to em. I found out my idea didn't work. Looking for a few ideas if you have any post up. Thanks

Easy to Build DIY Carbon Filter

Just about anyway you can get air sucking through a active carbon will make an excellent filter. You can be as creative or lazy as you want to be.

I didn't answer my own question and he never asked a question. I was mostly wondering weather or not charcoal from a fireplace will work to replace activated carbon? I have gutter screen and I have 2" pvc. Ideas are what I'm looking for. Not expert advice except with the charcoal thing.

I recon your fireplace coal would work but nothing near as good as activated carbon.

Yea I saw all those already but the problem is not how much walmart cost but the transportation to the store being 24 miles away haha I get about 9 miles to the gallon so that's about 5 gallons. Doing the math like that the 1 bottle of activated carbon will actually cost me about $20 lol
