hey looking for some help, i want to start growing in my closet, 8' x 4'. what would be a good set up for this size? how many plants? lights? and any other info i might need to know thanks in advance

ok.... look around the forums... and see what otherpeople have...

we need a bit more info

do you have the ability to exhaust heat?
how much money do you have to spend on the grow?
are you pretty determined to bve successful and commited?
soil or hydro?

If you can, i recommend starting with

1. soil - Black Gold organic
2. 1000 watt hps (hood and chains for easy height adjustment)
3. pH tester
4. 9 plants
5. cloning chamber (gel, razor blade, dome, rockwool, wilt spray etc)
6. 3- 5 gallon containers
7. Miracle Grow nutrients
8. watering can that holds 3 gallons of water
9. big container or tub to "make water"
10. tarp for the ground
11. exhaust fan (ducting)
12. ocilating fan
13. sticky fly traps (yellow sheets of paper)

thanks for the advice it was really helpful, i like your idea i have about $400 to spend, heat shouldn't be a problem, definitely want this to be successful and i'd like to use soil

You are looking to go soil then well get some 3-5g buckets, some high quality soil and nutes. Get yourself a HID light and forget all the additive for your first grow or two and put the cash into venting/air circulation.Seriously though check through the growFAQ they are setup like windows explorer and really helpful.
