sentinel master timer and hph-8 how they work to together????

so i have a sentinel mdt-1 mater digital timer and a sentinel hph-8, can these work together and how, does the mdt-1 contoll the hph-8?? do i just plug in 8 240volts 1000 watt ballasts in the hph-8 then i can plug in the mdt-1 into the hph-8 and use the timer to control all eight lights??
