Use a 700cfm blower, duct the intake to your vent. You can assemble your blower on your wall by using a steel L bracket and 2 tap screws. This will imitate a windy spring day and will also suck in new and cool air from your ac vents which introduces new co2 to your grow.

you will only need the one vortex to pull the air through the filter out of the grow room. the intake can be passive but should be filterd

What do you mean by passice?

And are you saying that the passive should be filtered with carbon aswell?

Because it would be cheaper on me than buying too?

As i said im open to suggestions.

Is passive effective for bringing into the room?

But now i've hit another problem odor.

I'm a bit worried that nothing will work for odor and then i'll have to cancel
my grow.

hook a can filter (or homemade equivilant) to you 6in vortex and exaust your air. for the intake, i bought a 15$ camfil filter for your home a/c and modified my intake hole to be the same size rectangle. i like to filter out the dust and pathgeons that come in from outside. as well as male pollen from my neighbors lazy outdoor grow. 1 fan. 1 carbon filter, and 1 a/c home filter. because the is no fan on the intake it is called passive intake.

I have a 400w hps in a closet about 3.5'x2.5'x7'. For my exhaust i bought a 120 or 140 cfm bathroom fan at home depot or rona for about $50.00. I mounted in my grow room (ceiling of course), and ran about 8' of 4" straight into another room (the smooth hard stuff, not flexhose). For my intake i have a 6" muffin fan mounted near the bottom of the room, this fan is 100 - 120 cfm and brings in a lot of fresh air. I also have a oscillating fan in there to keep the air circulating. My temps are 25-26c max, it doesn't take long for a space that small to heat up with a 400w in there, maybe an hour and then it's up to that 25c operating temperature. Anyways that's my cheapo ventilation, it may be a bit crude but it works great!

I see that you plan on using 2 fans... one for intake and the other for exhaust. I would make a home made carbon activated filter for the exhaust out of the grow room. Doing this will eliminate the odor and also keep your grow room nice and cool.
Two Birds One Stone.
But you dont need to worry about this step until later in the grow, there will be no smell for quite a while....

I would like to add to that post: For my first grow i had 5 45w cfl's in that same space with no ventilation except leaving the closet door open and a ossilating fan and my temps were higher!!! Who said cfl's don't put out any heat!?!?

Carbon filter is also a great idea and it will help to eliminate the odor, however it will NOT make you room cooler and WILL require a fan that moves more air due to the added resistance from the filter.

you added 5 CFLs to a room that already had what ??

and how much hotter did it make it?

cause I SAW 8 cfls in a closet and the temp on the GROUND at plant level never went over 5 degrees warmer than the ROOM (the room that the closet was in) temperature... never broke 80 degrees.

cheers

I had 1 plant in a small closet with 5 45w cfl's surrounding it + i added 2 2?w cfl's late in flowering, my temps were just over 80F when i left the door open. Temps were higher with the door closed, i don't remember exactly how high but i know they were higher because that's why i had to leave the door open. This was with no real ventilation, just an oscillating fan in the closet. My temp definitely rose more then 10F, but not a whole lot more. This was also during the winter in a cool part of my basement.

For my last grow i vegged using 6/7 27w 6500k cfl's in a 2'x3'x4.5' closet, i had a oscillating fan in there and left door open all the time. When the lights were on i would see temp increase of almost 10F.

If my flowering room wasn't full right now i'd be tempted to run 400w of cfl's in there for awhile with the ventilation on/off and the door open/closed. Then repeat the same test with my 400w hps and compare the results. I don't feel that my 400w hps puts out that much heat, i can get it about 6 - 7 inches from the plant tops without any burning. I personally without any testing think that 400w of cfl's in my small flowering room would make close to as much heat as my 400w hps. Anyone here ever try this 400 vs 400?

Knowm your the man bro, keep doing what your doing, and i look forward to reading your book when it's released.

Edit: Added some pictures because i know how the knowm loves pictures. Don't laugh too hard i was my first time growing anything. Remember your first time?

First picture is 5th day of bloom.
Second picture second week of bloom.
