This will be what I use for my first grow. After researching all different grow boxes, tents, etc. I decided to go with a dresser grow. Actual grow space is 30"x 16"x 36".

I plan on growing 6 plants at a time. I'm not sure what to use for lighting or ventilation yet, I'm hoping someone could help me with that. I prefer HPS bulbs, might mix in some CFL's with them. What watt HPS would be good for this size?

I bought the dresser today from someone on CL for $30. Went to Home Depot right after and bought hinges, caulking, & painters tape for about $10. I had some white paint already, so I didn't need to buy any.

This is where I'm at now. I gutted the dresser, all the drawers faces are off and ready to be put on.

150w HPS would be good. It doesnt put out to much heat and you could just use a small ventilation fan out the back.

Yeah a small HPS would be fine with proper ventilation. Personally, I'd go super stealth and use CFL's all over that thing.

As for ventilation, you could get away with a few small PC fans from Radio Shack or something similar from the hardware store.

This setup looks A LOT like what a friend of mine grows in. Well, he has 2 of them exactly the same that sit in the garage, and look kinda beat up like they've been sitting there for awhile. You'd never know there was a decent amount of green goodness growing inside unless you listen VERY carefully for the fans. Pretty stealth in my opinion.

Keep up the good work! Proper planning and hard work does pay off. I hope you get some mighty fine ladies in that dresser and enjoy the smoke.

Got more stuff done this morning. Finally finished the damn caulking, shit is messy.
I left the bottom drawer slider on, plan on making it so the tray with the plants can slide out.





Finished putting the drawer fronts on. Had to put a little caulking under some of the drawers, won't be noticable at all when it dries clear. Horrible picture, all I have is the camera phone. Will upgrade for grow journal, though. (: Got them feminized Train Wreck seeds.

Started painting last night. Got the first coat done tonight, will need one more coat. Plan on having it finished tomorrow.. pictures will be up then.

You could also look into T 5's too would make it MUCH easier to keep that little box cool.

Okay, so I finished the second coat of paint this morning.




After reading and getting advice, I changed up my whole plan..

I am buying a 400w hps system I found that also includes a cooltube.

6 plants is wayy too many, I don't know what I was thinking.. I am going to grow 2-3.

Still back and fourth with the ventilation.. with the cooltube, might do another duct, or the 4 pc fans I had planned from the beginning.

Box is pretty small for 400watts even with a cool tube . . .
