O-Hi there,
I know threads JUST like this one have popped in here more than casually in the past. I have read thoroughly through the forum on how growing works, equipment and how it works and interacts with the plants, nutes, FIMing/pruning, etc etc and have used it to my advantage in several personal grows.

Now, What I'd like to know is Where can I look, or who can I talk to for a point to point breakdown on a growing system. I just want to make sure that 1) I have everything. 2) I use a system outline that works and 3)to see what I missed the last times and what I can improve on this time.

I understand that it differs depending on how it's done so let me put some variables into the system.

Hydroponics -
Bubbleponics -
Aeroponics -

Do any one of the three - Whichever ones most suitable for a 1)Closet grow and/or a 2)Basement grow.

Grow space, let us say it is 5foot in length - 3foot in width and 6.5foot in height. I would like to grow as many plants within the given specifications as possible - 6- 12 <- tell me if I'm being unreasonable and I can look on expanding the growing space for the basement choice. If you want to go with your own measurements because lets face it, basements are pretty big, or if you want to recommend getting one of those large moving boxes to put it inside as well; I'm cool with that, I'm just giving some stipulations purely for topic control, so please go wild. You guys are the pros here.

Reasonably affordable per parts would be appreciated but try to add in as much to it as possible. You can always take out components that are inherently unessential to the grow op AFTER it's on paper.

Right now I have a single plant in that space with some mylar and 400w cfl and a stationary fan pointed away from the plant to keep it cool. *the closet gets pretty hot without it.* The temperature is about 23DegreesC. Or 73 about for you imperial system kids.

Not really doing anything overly complicated about nutes or ph atm, lost half my stuff while moving. I do however have, which I am currently using a single plant hydroponic system I purchased to 'grow tomatoes' back in my youth.

It's useful, for now. I wan't to start growing some more plants once I've warmed up to everything again.

Again, bare with me if this thread is a reoccurring nuisance from the past. I'm just looking to find some helpful experts out there to bestow some wisdom upon this still ignorant fool.

I can say in part the exact same thing; My grammar has a tendency to lapse out of existence every once and a while. Save of course for when I give enough attention to it. Who does that though? At any rate, I hope one of the many fine gentlemen and/or ladies standing behind the 'curtains' of RIU, so to speak, will step out and grace me with some of your wisdomly gold.

Have you done any research into the different forms of hydroponics? Not trying to be rude, but do you know that Bubbleponics or Aeroponics are both forms of hydroponics? These two systems are basically evolutions of Deep Water Culture (DWC). There's also Ebb & Flow and Nutrient Film Technique (NFT). If your looking into starting a hydroponic grow, I would suggest going to the hydroponic forum and do some reading there. Lots of info there about all of these sytems. Once you've decided on what system to use it would be much easier to make suggestions on what you can do with your grow space....

I get all that, I mainly wanted variations of hydroponics - I'm a fan.

Like I explained, Iv'e done reading enough to get the process. I want the equivalence of blue prints from pro's and constructive feedback of the like.
As was explained, I am fine with recommendations on hydroponics - bubbleponics and aeroponics. I appreciate the information, but I would have appreciated some answers to the issue at hand more-so than that.

Thanks though.

Sorry..my bad, didn't understand what you were asking for. Well I'm a fan of DWC. I use 6, 5gal buckets tied to a remote res. The res has a 100L upper tub and a 60L lower connected by float valve. There's 15 valves so I can shut down any one of the buckets without affecting the rest. I use a 5" dia air stone in each bucket, feed by a 65L/min air pump. My room is 15'x9'x8' but I put up a partition so I only use 7'x9'x8' Its still alot of space considering I'm only using a 1000w, but I like being able to still have room to get at all the plants.

The plants in the picture are 4 weeks from seed...

I'm better with direct questions as when im high my reading comprehension takes a sharp dive, but from what I gather from my quick read through of your post you want to know what hydro system to go with for your basement grow?

I'm also no expert but I can tell you that they are all very similar.
As for space concerns, with bubbleponics you don't need a res, which saves on floor space and height. A lot of people will tell you bubbleponics will grow your plants faster too, but I've never tested that.

I use a drip system and I see no reason to change that, works great.

As for number of plants, you can fit a lot of them in a 5'x3' space. You should decide on how big you want them at harvest, that will tell you how many you can have.
I vegged my girls for 3 weeks and they each have a footprint of about 12"x12"
If you trimmed them up and flowered from seed/cutting they wouldn't take more than 8"x8" and you could get away with less. So for me I could fit 15 plants in your room, and up to 40 plants if you flowered from seed/cutting and trimmed em up.
On the other hand you could fill that space with just 2 plants if you vegged em long enough.

Hope this helps, good luck with your grow!

Well, to be frank I want someone who has a handle on whats needed where; point for point no less.

I would like them to take basic closet measurements
and come up with a blue print so to speak of everything they believe I'd need - as if starting from scratch.

I'd like to also see the same thing without specific measurements i.e. Basement grow. I'm planning on building a containment around my grow eventually to make it look neat and tidy, so it can't take up the whoole basement. I gave those measurements for topic control specifically so ideas don't spike out of hand. It happens from time to time. However, be as creative as you need to be.

- I just want to see whats what, from scratch, absolutely everything needed for a reoccurring grow, inventory, how it works, how it goes together etc etc and then when that is done I can break down and see what's affordable and essential afterwards myself.

You've both been very helpful though, although it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I blame myself for not getting my idea across properly. Hopefully I clarified it properly this time.

- Sorry about that if anyone had trouble, I forgot people besides myself tend to be stoned while reading this forum.
