I picked this up at Target on sale today. 40 bucks I had the Y splitters from previous grows. I took the shelf and cut out circles so the Y connectors fit snug. By the time I'm done I'll have 3 rows with 2 Y connectors per row for a total of 12 lights. I would love to hear if anyone has any suggestions.

Looks good, maybe you could set up a vanity fixture instead of a bunch of sockets and extension cords
Check out this link: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...3WW&lpage=none You could screw a Y splitter into each socket and have six bulbs You just need a male end of an extension cord to wire the fixture to

I'd say it looks pretty good.. The only thing I would be concerned with is that those bulbs are awfully far away from the base of that rapid rooter tray.. Might have some stretching problems.. On top of that the loss of lumens to distance ratio with CFL's is pretty tremendous.. Thats why it's recommended to keep them within a few inches from the plants at most.. Just some FYI
But other than that I'd say it's a pretty neat setup! I'll be watching once you get some plants going in there! =D

Your advice paid off. I think that vanity light was made to be a part of my light hood. I'm going to add two more Y connectors like I did in the front. So there will be a total of 14 lights.

Good to hear mate
What are you going to do for ventilation? There is going to be some major heat buildup quick without an exhaust fan

I was going to try a few diffrent things. The air that I vent through my 600 watt light hood comes out around 72 degrees. I'm wondering If I could just divert it into my cabinet, and than a simple inline fan to sit on top and suck air out. I use a inline fan on top of my tent and it works pretty good.

You might be able to get away with just using that fan I paid like 20 dollars for it at my homedepot It should be strong enough to cool your cab
