Hi

I am setting up a new grow op and would like as much assistance as possible I have read most of the threads and there seems to be a lot of opinions as to what the best setup/design is.

I have a 30 (long) x 8 (wide) x 9 (high) space to work with. The space is insulated and has Mylar covering all the walls. I have enough power (60 amp sub panel) in the space so power should not be an issue.

My original thought was to split the space down the middle to create a 2 ft pathway and then have 3' x 30' of plants on either side. (see pic)

The lights would be 4 1000W HPS lights down the middle of the space (see attached). Lights on chain so they can be lowered or raised as needed.

The back of the space would have all the equipment in it (extractors, air purifiers,etc)

The plants aould all be in 4-5 gallon pots and be sitting on a shelf raised 1 foot off the floor. Would be attempting to grow approx 160 plants and all same strain (white widow).

Does this sound reasonable?
What equipment would I need besides the obvious:
- Extractor fan
- Air purifier
- Small fans to direct air on plants

Any suggestions, ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like your gunna have a good amount of work on your hands. I like the idea of a walkway and are u gunna wotk with seeds or clones? Smart to check your panel for adequate power. Are u sure the ventilation the room has already will be enough for the heat of 4000 watts? Most of all good luck with this op!

Wow you have a great space to work with but there are a few red flags with your design. First thing is your walkway, 2ft is not enough space to maneuver around.

Second the lights right down the middle is a large design flaw. The best looms are lost on the walkway and most of your plants will get secondary light.

Third 4 1000w lights would not be even close to enough light for a 30ft long space. Basically the best light is cast in the 4x4ft area under the bulb.

In my opinion what I would do is split the room 4&1half foot of grow space and 3&1half of walk way. I would run 4 1000w on light movers and space them 7ft apart.
