Alright been messing around with my light setup trying to get it dialed in before i start the grow.

I have a 4'' canfillter, hooked up to a 4'' canfan155cfm, then it Y's two both lights 400wat hps/400wat mh, on the hps i hooked up a 4" PC fan 85cfm to the back, then theres a Y that both lights are hooked up to, ducing from the Y to another 4" PC fan 85cfm that goes out.



Planning this i thought it was going to work, but nope still both cooltubes are hot to touch and the room still gets above 95

Anyone have something that might work, i am still working on it hahaha gotta keep plugging away until something works so while i wait in between room test and doing different setups i thought i would make a thread see if any one could throw a good idea at me. I am all ears, trying to keep both lights i know i could make it work if i got rid of one.

You need a higher CFM fan to cool your lights

im using a 240 cfm 6" duct fan to cool my 400 hps and it still gets to like 80-90 in the room when the ambient is 70 (i dont have an active intake)

Im wishing i woulda bought the 8inch light housing and used a 440 cfm 8" fan

i should be up to 235 cfm on the cooltube setup with all the fans


I was thinking about buying two more pc fans and redoing my light setup with two pc fans per light front and back and still have the canfan hookedup to the lights with the canfilter.... it would be one heavy light fixture and another 60-80 bucks for the pc fans hmmm that would be up to 395cfm

still thinking gotta think , it can be done with out more money i hope.

have the lights on a separate fan sealed intake and exhaust outside and a fan for the carbon filter to exchange air in the cab,no restriction from the filter will help cool the cab

I cant make any more holes in the house to the outside i was going to take some fresh air for the intake but i have to setall on the house air.

I could maybe make another hole inside the bedroom wall and take air from the house to cooltubes then the outside, going to look into that one.

Man i would love to have another nice big fan but theres barley any room in there for it, if i do put it above the grow then i am limited on how tall the plants can grow and right now thats the only place it would fit. Thats why i just decided on the pc fans i get the same cfm out of them as the 4" fan on that link.

Rooms not really done yet but if you want real pics of what the room looks like and how much space i have just ask.

Going to go take a rip and go think about what robert said .... not really big on making another hole but what has to be done has to be done keep those ideas likeing what i am hearing!!

Maybe a try out a few of these fans
They are rated 105 CFM a piece
