Can any of you lend your expertise with a room setup with the following specs? We're also looking for inexpensive ideas for setup/growing.

Room:
13.5 ft long
8.5 ft wide
7.5 ft tall

We also have the following equipment:
2 400 wt HPS lights with reflectors from HTG Supply
1 roll of 54" x 50 ft mylar
thermometer & hydrometer
2 heavy duty timers for lights
oscilating fan & window fan with intake/exhaust
nutrients
soil
big ol' bucket for water/feed
ozium air sanitizer machine

get you a couple of blowers to vent that "big" grow area. The only other things i would get is a good Ph/ppm meter and a co2 set-up....Are you going to grow SOG? If so make a cheap little cloner.....

Thanks, was wondering about the ventilation with having the two windows in the room. One is pointed right at a neighboring house but they dont have any windows on that side at least, and this room is on the second floor. What kind of blowers do you mean?

I was thinking about trying the sog since there is a closet in that room as well that would be good to put a cloner in or maybe flower in. Still undecided though. With the 2 400 wt hps lights I think I might be able to get at least 15 plants under them. This grow will be from seed so there will be some males to get out later.

If I were setting up a room like that I would look at the physical plant first. Electrical, plumbing, water lines and drains, and air handling systems. You said this is on the second floor so is there an attic above you can vent through. I might be inclined to make the window side the work space, using panda plastic to seperate the light are from the windows. Plenty of space for 30 flowering plants and a clone /mother area. What type of sysem are you considering?? What medium etc. What is your plan?? VV

There is an attic above the room that I'd love to be able to vent to, but im not sure if I can. This is an older house with the crappy plaster walls and ceilings. The plaster tends to crumble if its cut into or anything like that so I'm not sure how I'd vent up there to the attic, but in that room inside the closet ceiling is a small trap door that leads to the attic. Maybe I could put a fan in that trap door and remove the door from the closet so that its open to the room. Hopefully the ceiling won't cave in on me just from putting hooks in it for the reflectors/lamps lol. There are 2 110 outlets in the room, one under each window. One of them is also a GFI. I do have some good power strips as well (figure they can't hurt). I'm painting the room a bright white today probably even though I have mylar and will probably be using some panda plastic like you said to divide the room somehow. It needed painted anyway lol, and again can't hurt having some bright white walls.

I'll be growing from bag seed in soil for the first time or two around, then was thinking of ordering some white widow seeds after I have a little practice in. I'd probably need some more lights to flower 30 plants and keep a mother and clones? I don't want to spend a huge amount of money, but am willing to spend a little if i need a little more light or venting system. HTG Supply's store is only 20 minutes or so from me

I was thinking of using the panda plastic to divide the room across about 3 or 4 feet from that back window for the veg or clone area, then the rest for flowering. Now I'm thinking i really need another light or two if I want to have some veg and flower at the same time, or maybe go for less plants and only have the one light for flower and one for veg.

What do ya think? any ideas on a little venting system would defenitly be great too
