Ok so I am building my first REAL grow box, no more of this CFL crap! Im sorry but people who say it works are wrong! I mean yes it works if you want a very slow growing plant!!!

enough of that, back to the reason im here!
My box is going to be 3' x 3' x 5.5' and plan on splitting it into two chambers one for veg state and for flowering...

First: i need to know if 400 watt MH and HPS lights are going to be too much?

Second: do i really need a air cooled hood, does it make a difference?

Third: I am looking at a 6" 424 CFM inline fan with a carbon scrubber, is that over kill? Should i look at 4" 170 CFM fans?

NOTE: If I go with a 4" fan i cant go with a air cooled hood, they are all 6"

Your best bet is to comb through the stickies at the top of the different sections. For that space you could put a 400 watt but heat would be an issue. Sounds like a 250 hps might be more suitable to your space needs. For the veg side I would just get quite a few flouros. thats all you need and they stay cool. Go with a 250 watt cool tube. Ok so, i am talking to htgsupply about my system i will setting up!! They are great about getting you package deals and low shipping costs!

I talked to a buddy a mine that use to grow a lot of really good stuff and he said that if i use a air cooled hood ill be able to use a 400watt light! Does that sound right!? And yes READING is all i have been doing for three months!
