that looks pretty cool.. almost like someone did the hard work for you..
i think if you put some doors on the front.. or drywall off the front and put doors on the back... you could keep all of your stuff in there (supplies and plants)
why not drop a big fish tank in the spot.. and do hydroponics on top of it..
i knew a guy who did a hydroponic lettice thing with talapia down below.. the fish food fed the fish.. the fish poo fed the plants.. and the plants well im sure you get the picture.. and you would only have to explain why you have some stringy roots haning into your "prize" coi tank lol...
that sounds like more than you want...
keep us posted.. this looks cool

Going to start working on it this weekend. I'll keep pics of the whole process, and update as I go.

At this point, the only real design question I have left is where the access to this space will be and how will it look. Im thinking of just doing some "as hidden as possible" type doors in the dry wall, and then using a 6ft bookcase to cover up any noticable breaks in the wall. Other than than, I'm left with going to the garage side and tearing out the backside for doors or some sort of slide in paneling...

We'll see... I need to have it figured out soon! haha

I'll have to post some more pics when I get home from work tonight...

I managed to tear out all of the shelves, or what you might have called shelves. It was a serious DIY job. So, now that all of that's been torn out, Im going to go through and seal up all the corners and whatnot. Then I'll be working on setting up intake and exhaust with two CPU fans from server racks. I plugged them in yesterday, and neither seemed to send out too much noise while delivering a pretty good air current. I'll be putting a carbon filter on the exterior, which will run out into the garage.

Anyhow, I'll throw up some fresh snapshots later today of the gutted area, and keep updating as I go.

So, everything has been gutted. For some reason there was already a hole in the side of the area... I'm seriously wondering what they did with this little closet before we moved in. I put my intake fan into that hole, and created another hole on top for exhaust. You can see that both fans are in place, as well as the carbon filter on top (seen from the garage side).

What I'm still seriously hung up on is how to conceal the whole area, while still creating easy access... When looking at the strait on pic, I would like the "doors" or whatever it might be to be right there. Any ideas??

Other than that, I should have the mylar here within another day or two, and Once I get that access covered up, I'll move the light and plants over.

You get handled vent in the garage.if you had a exhaust fan in the attic that vent outside you could vent into the attic. The attic is cooler and the house is cooler to for the attic fan.Fan blows out at the end vent of the house.works great for me.You got a carbon filter so no worry about smell. looks good keep us posted.PEACE

Ive run them to air vent connection with a bathroom ventilation fan. resulted in me having to take out the usage of the vent in that bathroom but it was a guest bathroom anyways. lol i made a bit of a weirder carbon filter with a wide spring and a filter folded zigzag through it and fit flushly in airduct. no gawky barrel with black crap on it...........
