Hey im curious if anyone out there is living in Canada, specifically Halifax NS.

I am wondering if the electrical companies report wattage to authorities?

I plan on running 12 600watts if not more and I want to make sure its safe to do so before going ahead and doing it.

I am NOT willing to steal power or anything like that.

maybe generators if it is reasonable and it makes sense economically.

I've heard others say it like this, at the end of the day the energy company is a business and they wanna make money so just pay your bills and you should be good.

Thats exactly what I heard too but I also heard that some Governments are taking it upon themselves to force information out of these companies with laws. I lived in BC for a while and I know a few years ago they were planning on this exact thing. Luckily I think there was enough fuss and they dropped it. Just wondering if this was the case anywheres else..

I think the only way they could tell is if at the same time ever day your power consumption jumps by 7200w. you could try having two flowering areas that are set on oppisite schedules so you have a continuous 6x600w being drained, that way even if they did look they wouldn't see the pattern of a big power jump for 12 hours the same time every day.

You could also try getting a good timer that allows for a random setting (turns on at a random time within a 15 minute interval, used for people who go on vacation and want lights to come on to fool burglars by coming on at a different time).

most power meters do not work this way.

So as long as the bills are paid on time then everything should be okay?
