Exclamation my girls are too hot
Hi, Well i'm a first time grower and have done everything to the letter. i have power skunk only 4, grown in soil. i used a good soil for hanging baskets. i have 2x600w air cooled with 2x duct fans sucking air though a carbon filter through the lights to outside the room and the other blowing new air back in.. I also have 3 desktop fans running. the room has a large reflective strip around it and i'm using co2 wich is released with an acurate measure....all sounds good..

It's far too hot it's running about 94^96.

I swear thats slowing everything down.

What else can i do to get the temp down....any assistance would be great...

THX.

4 plants would be happy with 1 600 watt. room should stay cooler with one. if you can get the temp down to around 90 with co2 at 1500 PPM you will be fine.

More plants will cause other problems that have to be overcome. (humidity, light penetration, air circulation, Etc. That's what makes this such a great hobby. Always something that has to be thought out or over come. It's very rewarding to me to see something grow and thrive due to my actions.

Run the op at night as much as possible and try to draw air for some place cooler if possible. Summer time is always a harder time to grow because of the heat. By your next crop The ambient temps should be lower and heat wont be as much of a problem

your soooooo right. . i started by buying a second hand light with a 250w bulb, bought 5 power skunk seeds from flying dutchman. 4 took, and they took ages to start. so i expanded. my girls have been under the new light for the last 6weeks. hopefully i should be chopping next week...

another problem. not sure how long is left, will put pics up tomorro.

Try the Sun Shield, it goes over your reflector and cools the room 6-8 degrees. It insulates the reflector, keeping the heat in and not permeating throughout the room. Also made from reflective material.
I use it and its amazing and I recommend it to everyone.

You either need a bigger fan(s), or you intake temps are already too high to begin with. If it's sucking in 90 degree air to begin with, doesn't matter how fast your fans are moving, it is only going to get hotter ones the HID's get ahold of it.

yea dude i just harvested a crop that was stressed by the heat. i didnt monitor the temps and let the hps run. it was so hot in there id sweat once i enter, and its a good sized room. The buds came out weak, loose, cant even smell the pineapple, and i bet THC content is really low although im only a week into curing. Dude make sure the air being pulled in is colder. Also, you cud use a cool tube to control the heat from the output of the light. Next time im gonna be running a digital a/c in the room next to my flower room. The rooms bigger so it will collect cold overnight. It will be on when the lights are off, to minimize chances of a overload. There are three rooms, my flowering room in the middle. Also, I will have a tent and the cool tube. Im gonnna run the hot air from inside the tent through the light and out into the third room, while the cold a/c air is being pulled in to replace the hot air. Hope that helps dude, and yea i didnt realize how bad heat stress was till i got this bud with elongated calyxes and a grassy smell. Hope you get them temps down keep trying.
