Hey everybody, im new here and i've seen the carbon filters mentioned to cut down on smell. What effect would an ionizing-type air filter have?? it works by spraying charged ions in the air which are attracted to the oppositely charged mechanism within the device which then burns up the dust/smell. It does a great job on smoke and BO. has anyone tried this??

I haven't used one myself, but I have been around a buddies house who had his grow in a closet and had 2 of them running 24x7. When the doors were opened...watch out. I would say they helped a tad bit, but not to the point where I would go spend money on them. I say if you have them or are getting a bargain... use them, but I think a carbon scrubber is a better solution.

If you have like $300 to waste, go for it. Carbon filters are the better way to go here. Using Ionizers in the grow room can do more harm than good, as the ozone can damage your plants, and even you.
