Default T8 Floro?
Picked up two 4 feet, 32 watt, 5000k Floros yesterday, going to start growing some Raspberry Cough when my new seeds come in the mail.

I've been growing with CFLs so far. I liked how it said it simulates natural, full spectrum light.

2950 lumens per tube? Or is that the total with the two bulbs? Came in the same package. I hope that is seperate.

2700k for Flowering, and 6500k for Vegging. I know that much, I'm just wondering if the 5000k Will do the job? The store I went to only carried the 5000k. And I can't find anything else in the city that sells the other ones mentioned above.

Any ideas?

5000k will work ok for veg, the MH that I use is 5000k, I couldn't find a better spectrum in 250w, but the plants seem to love it.
I'm not sure about the lumen output. If it's per tube it seems pretty high, 92 per watt, but it would be quite low if it was for both, only 46/w. Fluoros tend to be around 60-70 lumens per watt from what I read.
How many plants are you growing? You'll need more light than that if you wanna grow more than one small one.

Going to be growing two to start with, then choose the best one as a mother and clone off of that, then harvest the other.

I mean it's 4 feet long, and about a foot or so wide. That should be enough to support two plants. I know the mother will require more light, that's for sure.

I'm also going to be rigging up CFL's on around the plants as well. Going to go with 4 CFL's to increase it all.

Not sure the Kelvin for the CFL's I should use though. I know of a couple but I'm unsure of what the best decision will be. Money is of no issue when it comes to the CFL's.

i have the same t8 lights.i have 2 fixtures so thats 4 bulbs total and it works fine for seedlings/cuttings and vegging.but when you start to flower you should use a hps.i have a micro grow so i just use a 150 watt hps but the more light the better.hers a pic of my t8 set up

Perfect yeah.
That's all I wanted to hear, was that it works for vegging. When the time comes to flower I'll switch the lights out.

Could you keep the T8's going and add the flowering spectrum? I'm unsure of what the effects of that would do for the plant.

I'm going to go pick up another fixture and grab another two bulbs then.

CFL's are awesome to use from seedling all the way into the first couple of weeks of budding.
I prefer to use T5's.
They don't use as much electricity and their brighter.
Once you get into full fledged flowering, you'll need something that put's out a bit more juice and spectrum to produce nice sized buds.
At least a 400 watt HPS with a decent bulb does the job.

I just bought a T5 and in doing some research beforehand I found the following table.

Goto bullet #13 in the following link.

http://www.specialty-lights.com/plant-grow-faq3.html

In terms of Lumens/Watt here it is from "best" to "worst"

T5 HO Fluor: 93
Metal Halide: 80
T8: 63
T12: 55
