Default gogrow needs help with ventilation
i was gonna put my op in the attic, but am having second thoughts... doing it in the attic would be a bitch, so i have bargained with the wifee and can now do it in a spare room... i plan to exhaust my hot air through the attic of course, but a few uncertainties have came up in my mind.....

i planned to try to use one fan to cool the light and for air exchange for the room.... passive air intake at bottom of tent. dont really know how to do any drawing of this thing but try to follow me here......

carbon filter
430 cfm can fan

light ============= <--- airflow

does this make any damn sense??? or am i missing something?

You carbon filter is hooked up to the 430cfm at the top with passive air intake at the bottom to cool the light?

I would add another one or two small fans to increase fresh air intake and circulation.

Is the spare room cooled with forced ventilation?

do i want to push air through the filter, or pull it?? or does that matter??

but yes, the other side of the light will be open to pull air through, as the tent is sealed, i figured it would suffice, with a intake hole at the bottom of the tent, to effectively cool the light, and exchange my room air...... hope im not too confusing here.

That will work. what size fan? Do you have fresh air intake for the spare bedroom? You could have your air intake hooked up to a modified window opening and still be passive but, pulling fresh air. Look arond the site. Plenty of good ideas.

Push / pull it does'nt matter. Some say push air over light. What's the dif, air is still cooling the bulb. I pull mine (too much info, haha).

Good luck,

its a 430cfm can fan....

i dont have a specific fresh air intake, but my house is old and drafty.... plenty of co2, but i planned on putting an ac in the room and just pulling air from inside the room, since it will be MUCH cooler than outside(its 10am and already 88f outside).... any reason i shouldnt pull my air from inside the bedroom??

and i wasnt talking about the bulb... i meant the carbon filter, should i push or pull the air through it?

I pull air thru my carbon filter on one cab and push it thru on the other. Same 430 cfm fan on both and same results....not to be confusing, but I have 2 fans, 2 cabs. Just in case someone thought I used the same fan for both cabs.

cool... i am getting the idea that my setup will work.... i still think i may end up having to add a small fan to get a little extra "ummph" out of it....

gotta finish my breakfast smoothie and another bowl, and it is back to it.... i'll make a thread with pics documenting the progress and link it here, if you have nothing else to do today, check it out.

i dont see any problem with that as long as you have enough fresh air getting into the spare room to replace what your taking out of it.
do you plan to run a duct through the attic to the outside? or just vent into the attic? since you have a filter there is no smell but you still have the heat going into the attic if venting into the attic. you could get an attic ventilator with a built in thermostat and set it for 100 degrees F. so it will cool the attic off a bit. i dont vent into the attic but i have an attic fan anyway to help cool it down so my central air doesnt run so much.

my house was built back in the depression... it is setup for no ac.... we have a huge fan in the center of the house in the ceiling... sucks air from house, blows it out the attic which has 2x2ft vents on 3/4 sides... not worried about heat up there
