So I may have an opportunity to pick up some used MH bulbs for free.

I noticed at work this week that they have been replacing them all with mogul base compact fluoros so I need to find the head maintenance guy and ask if I can have a couple / as many as they want to give me. I talked to someone else and they said that they were just going to recycle them anyway.

Question is... would this even be worth it?

I forget what I read somewhere about the average life of HID bulbs and after how many harvests should they be replaced.

If they are free why not MH are great for veg and you can actually use them for your entire grow. Just make sure you have the proper hardware to run the bulbs.
