So the temps in my can grow have been getting really hott since adding extra lights, and with the increasing seasonal temperatures. I saw a vid that Namfoodel posted on my grow thread about a Redneck AC Unit. that really cools. BUT I cant fit something that size in my can, it houses like 9 2L bottles. SO I did a draft sketch of a single bottle unit.
THe idea is that you take a frozen 2 liter bottle of ice. place it in an insulated cylinder with cut-outs on the bottom of the cylinder extended by PVC pipe, and a 3-speed fan on top of the cylinder to direct air-flow. Now I figure that this will significantly cool the small space, not only of my can, but of any small grow space. But im curious as to if it would cool better if the out-holes (where the cool air expels) would be better placed higher up on the cylinder? I dont want the cool air hitting my plants directly, nor do I think it would be good to be freezing the soil. So any ideas, comments, or anything is greatly appreciated. Im attaching my draft pic, so you guys can get a better idea.
