I'm working with a deep standing freezer which is in process of converting to grow tank. I'm looking for advice on a topic I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. I am looking to use a regulator to control my condenser to maintain the temp at about 70 degrees in the freezer and have a 250w h.p.s. hanging inside, heating the freezer to about 80 degrees. A few oscillating fans to push air around and a cool tube for the light should keep the temperature stable at around 75 degrees. It would get opened a few times a day to replace air supply of co2 and get some fresh movement as well. Does anyone have any ideas on this type of grow, using the freezer itself as almost a controlled environment allowing it to maintain your ventilation and heat control. Let me get some ideas or experience with this if you have it...

I have not ever heard of anything like that.
By the sounds of it your freezer will be plugged in? Used for cooling?

yeah im converting a mini fridge but i just gutted it out and am going to put a carbon scrubber under where the guts where so its still stealth thats a crazy idea about kinda useing the freezer to keep the temp down i dont know but ive also never grown before so this will be my first soo good luck and post some pics of it im really curious

Before I did all that though I would first:
1. hang the light
2. hang a thermometer
3. turn on the freezer on the lowest setting
4. turn on the light
5. watch and see where the temperature evens out to.

Good luck. I have thought about this idea several times. Freezers have built in thermostats that regulate there temperature. Should have some adjustment.

what if you get a piece of wood to run the length of your door and seal it to the body of the freezer and maybe to spray the foam insulation on the board or anything better for insulation.. then cut holes in the wood and put pc fans in there set on timers ... thats just my stoned thinking i know that there are better versions of my idea that would be better insulated best bet to do it basically like this i think

I have since scrapped the idea as it was no where near as effective as other cheaper ideas. Its now running a 250 hps and is slowly being built up to what I want. Thanks for all the responses...
