if i had a 6 inch 425cfm inline fan would it be possible to vent two tents one 2x4x5 one 4x4x7 i was thinking of ducting the small tent into the big tent thru the side ports then using the inline fan to suck the hot air out and blow it thru the filter

does anyone have any ideas to better use these materials to get the best end result

Sounds good to me. I have a 6 inch at 50% power (variable controller) or less and it pulls air from a cool tube and another split to just pull the hot air out of the top. Same tent size only one tho...

Its probablly best to have to carbon scrubbers in each tho. Mine is on the outside and seems to work but odor is not a HUGE deal for me..

If I was going to vent two tents with one fan I would use a Y-connector and draw from both tents at the same time instead of from one tent into the other and then out. You will be drawing heat from the first tent into the second so it might be difficult to maintain the proper temperature range if the second tent is being fed with the warm/hot air from the first.

That is if this system handles both heat and fresh air. If you have sealed lights with cooling air passing through them and the system you are talking about is only for fresh air it should work at least fairly well the way you are talking about doing it.

Here is an option. Mount the fan in a box. Hood up the exit fan so that the collar is sticking out of the bottom of the box. Attach a piece of flex and run it from there to the carbon filter. Now that you have that coming out of the bottom we will move to the intake. On the left and right of the box you will need to cut holes and install a collar of your liking. Run flex to the tent on the left and the other side to the right. The box will act as a plenum and levelize the draw coming from both tents. You can also wrap the box in insulation to keep it very very quiet.

i have something fairly similar going on at my place... if i were you i'd try to run the exhaust up into your attic if possible... put the carbon filter up in the attic at the end of your flexible ducting...

as far as pulling from both tents, i would try to get a 6" Y and pull from both tents instead of from a into b and then out, i think you'd have a lot better luck doing it like this... GL

it would only work to pull air through air cooled hoods, it would not work to draw air from 2 tents as their would not be sufficient movement to cool the tents, i have a 6" in a 4x4 tent and it does the job, doubling the amount of space it has to pull air from would not be good enough

where can i vent it out of the carbon filter do i gotta cut a whole in the roof

I don’t know what your place is built like or how handy you are but if you have a plastic stack pipe or pipes for your toilet or toilets you can cut one and put in a Y-joint and vent through your stack pipe. That already gives you a hole in the roof so you don’t have to cut another or cut a hole in the wall and add a vent that someone might question of a place for air leaks or water leaks or animal or insect entry.

If you have a cast iron stack pipe or pipes you can still do it but it would be more work.

I did that with 2- 3x3 tents. The filter set on the floor in between the tents. I had the 6 inch fan blowing down thru the filter. On top of the 6 inch filter I had a 6 inch y duct that had 6 to 4 inch reducers. 4 inch duct pulled air from the tents.

It worked okay, still some smell so wouldn't be good for apartment or shared living space if try to be discreet. You couldn't smell anything outside.

This only worked well for me cause I kept the central air set to 66 and it was able to keep up on all but the hottest days. I ran my lights at night when I was flowering. I also only had a 315 cmh in each tent.

What kind of lights are in the tents?
