My first issue is which indica-dominant strain would suit best..I'm leaning towards either;
Cheese, White shark/widow/rhino from Greenhouse Seeds Or maybe LSD from Barney's? ( thc content is supposedly 24%!?) Want a serious indo with a little sativa depth..if you know what I mean.. Anyway I was going to just get a 400W HPS for the 3'x3'x6.5' flower room ( as well as a 250W MH for veg) but now I'm thinking a 600W HPS would be the better investment as the operation may expand. The first batch will be from seed but I'm hoping to set up a screen of green with 9-12 of the best clones- will 600W HPS be enough/too much for them when they're still little in a small flowering room? As for the practicalities of a ScrOG... Do you allow the plants, once flowering and sexed, to grow up under the screen and the growth be pushed out horizontally.. and THEN allow the plants to grow through the screen and trim away lower (hopefully un-lit) branches? Really want to get this shit right, any advice would be seriously appreciated! Much love to y'all, indofiends and sativa maniacs both |

It's imperative you only use females in your SCROG as it can be a bitch to get males out of there later. Veg the plants until the just about hit the screen or the tops are about 1 1"2 inches through the screen. During the initial "Stretch" phase of flowering is where you want to be weaving the plant through the screen. The key is to not let your plants get too big before you start. You want them to JUST fill the screen perfect and it's better to be under then over. If your plants get too big and unruly it's easy to get mold and it gets difficult to manage very quickly. Trim the lower parts under the screen, but not too heavily, just enough to allow some good airflow below that screen because it's going to trap in air and moisture and invite mold. So keep air moving below and above the screen to avoid that problem.
