Ballast kits <<< start here se if it helps
Does anyone know how you wire this hps ballast / ignitor /socket? It is a 120v 100 watt HPS. I have a 120v heavy duty grounded power cord to use for this.
just need to know what wire goes where...
i really dont want to take my 400w hps ballast apart to figure it out because its in use right now.
a diagram or instructions would be grately appreciated.
hahah, thats funny, i was just reading that trhead from mogie back in 07, the links to the diagrams are broken. but that is where i discovered i was missing a componet. I just pm'd him. thanks for the point in the right direction...
anyone else have any ideas????
A. Without getting technical, a "pulse start" ballast has an ignitor which helps start the lamp, while the "probe start" does not have an ignitor. Most ballasts sold in MH fixtures here in the U.S. are "probe start" (ANSI: M57, M58 or M59).
and would one of these "ANSI: M57, M58 or M59" be labeled on the componet?
I bought it on EB and it hasnt come in yet, but those are the pics of the actual item. so i cant check to see what is printed on it yet.
anybody else have ideas or sugestions....
No idea. I've just wired up a make shift balast and light and I'm really not confident with the wiring. Hopefully my house wont burn down over night so I can go purchase some proper wires and connections tomorrow.

You are missing the capacitor. You will need to find out what one to use for a 100w bulb.OPH
