Default Turbo TT tube 125 extractor - design fault???
Hi,

I bought this extractor on Ebay about a month ago(see pics). It worked well for the 1st couple of weeks, then after switching it on one day, I went out and when I got back the extractor was dead. After taking it down and checking it out, I found the main turbine blades had somehow detached from the inside of the fan, and had jammed itself stuck on the plastic case, and burned itself out.

I sent an email to the shop I bought it off on Ebay, they immediatly arranged to have a new sent out to me in exchange for the old one, delivery paid for by the seller. All good I thought.

Till today, the new fan has been plugged in and working fine for about a week, when I first installed it, I checked the turbine blades were secured properly and spun freely, which they did. But today it started making a loud whirring noise, so I pulled it down, and as I expected the turbine blades had come off again, and it was jammed on the casing again. If I hadnt unplugged it im sure it would have blown like the 1st fan did.

So Im thinking this type of fan must have a severe design fault, has anyone else had problems with this type of extractor?

also, i need some advice, should I try to get a refund from the seller? or maybe a different replacement fan??

I paid good money for the fan, and have taken good care of them both, yet both fans developed the same fault in less than a month. what should i do???

btw, Im in the UK and so is the sellers shop. Any advice much appreciated.
