This OP will start on/approximately 4/20/2008. The medium will be soil no matter what. However the lighting options are up for change and the dimensions can be changed-but only slightly! I have not yet decided on method of growing yet either. SOG, SCROG, LST, what do you think? This can also be perpetual if the majority wishes.
So far my rough calculations are as follows:

Clone Box: 18-24"H, 40"D, 56"W
Lighting: Three 4' T5HO strip lights (http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc....T5SBST4&eq=&Tp=)
There will be 7 Humidity Domes inside this area.

Veg Box: 42"H, 40"D, 56"W
Lighting: One 400w MH centered, and Two 2' 2 bulb T5HO compact, or 2x400w MH? What do you think for lights?

Flower Box: 72"H, 40"D, 60"-72"W
Lighting: 2x600w HPS, or 2x1000w HPS

I'm open on your thoughts as far as products. For Veg I already have 1 400w Lumatek ballast. I am wanting these areas to be as quiet as they possibly can. I prefer to not use hoods for the bulbs as you lose light through the glass. I also would like to not use A/C. I'm open to using CO2 if I feel comfortable with how to use it, and can find a *fairly* cheap CO2 controller(I have a tank and a cheap controller that the needle doesn't work haha). I'm open for suggestions on soil mixtures and nutes. However I would like to stay as organic as possible. I'm not an organic freak, but just prefer to use better products for our environment.

Please keep in mind that in the end, this grow is for TASTE and POTENCY for personal use. I'm not so much concerned with the weight of the buds. I'm only looking to have a large stash of personal.

If no one wishes to comment/put their info in I will go ahead with this grow and choose my own products/items. I just thought it'd be fun for others to get to see someone else use a setup before investing on their own!

Sweet, I love grow ops open two ideas.... i have a few:
I'd say for a personal soil op with 2 dedicated flowering lights, go SoG + LST.
If you want to do away with AC, though your opting not to, I say use a Dual Cool tube 60" ($215: http://www.thegardendepotinc.com/3764.html ) and you should be able to regulate temp way easier.
Also, you could get one 1000w hps and one 600w hps and let them start flowering on 600 then move on up to 1000w as harvesting supplies room.

Sounds like a good plan. I was going to do a similar op, using 600 watt digital cool tubed HPS for a 4'x4' flowering area rotating with a clone box and a veg cabinet and doing the SoG method. I read Al B Fuct's rotating harvest threads, and I'm just amazed. If you could rotate a good number of plants in trays every two weeks or once a month only growing colas, I think that would be most efficient in terms of productivity. Of course a monster SCROG/LST would be cool also, but the idea of rotating and keeping crops fresh is what turns me onto the SoG method.

Oh I forgot you said it had to be soil. Then the rotation would be more like once a month. Not as productive, but still a bad ass setup. As for the wattage, 2 600's would give you more coverage, but the 1000w would be more lumens/denser buds.

Slackjack - Doing a half SOG half ScROG the first go around almost takes tha cake for me. I've been wondering which would work best for me! I actually overlooked doing it this way! Also moving from the 600 to the 1000 would be beneficial but I was thinking maybe doing Indicas under the 600 and Sativas under the 1000. I will not be using a cool tube because I've read the curved glass takes away quite a bit of the light!

That almost fits me better. I'm not really in the absolute need of fresh bud, I'd rather be smoking some cured bud! So rotating in fresh plants once every 3 weeks or month would be alright. Harvest like once a month or so. Thanks again for your input!
