i don't know what a 'ruck' is... but if it is a in-line fan... then just use the "pink stuff"... wrap a bunch of insulation (r13 or r19) or whatever you have around the fan and tape it up. You can also build a wooden box around this wrapped up fan with just holes cut in two walls for the input and output.

Just insulate the hell out of it. As long as you're not blocking an intake... it can't hurt. Also, use something fire resistant just to be safe... the pink stuff is good... just strip off the paper backing.

If you cannot buy a more silent fan then I have seen people use egg cartons tacked on the vibrating walls to muffle the sound.

Heres a easy method get foam or something of that nature, cut into strips and put between the fan and the box thus dampering sound and vibrations
