Default white paint
i was going to paint my closet walls white but i just read on this site i believe somewhere in the grow FAQ section where it talks about bad room syndrome that painting your walls can relase harmful vapors or fumes that are dangerous to your plants, not just fresh paint but even older paint. what do you guys think about this/

hmm well it is true that paint (even after its been left on walls for a long time) can release harmfull fumes, id suggest (if money is tight) to cover most of walls with foil paper or Mi-Lar (its like metalic paper)

COMPLETE BALDERDASH!!

you are totaly giving this guy the wrong advice!! Don't use white paint and use tinfoil ha ha!

Seriously if you don't know what you are talking about, don't try advise people.

Have you even got a grow on the go, or under your belt? or just one of those people who have grown lots of grows in theory??

Ok back to the paint... there is nothing wrong with using flat white emulsion paint at all, fumes??? don't use tinfoil what ever you do as this will cause hotspots and burn your plants. I have my room all painted flat white, and look how my first & second grow are going.

Also im a painter & decorator by trade, so i know what im talking about with the paint

Well then, don't you think that a semi-gloss white would be more reflective than a flat white? just sayin........that flat white will absorb light rather than reflect it, don't ya think?

not true, flat white paint is the second most reflective surface besides mylar
glossy paint actually doesn't reflect as much light for whatever reason.. there is faq's about reflectivity all over the net.

and the reflectivity means it reflects ALL spectrums of light, not just brightness that you see and think it's brighter.

flat white is the most reflective. anything glossy has clear gloss in it that diminishes light. true white is the most reflective.
