Hi, I have a question about my lighting situation. I know HPS is better than fluorescent, but I need to worry about my energy bill. I have a 600w HPS bulb and I'm curious if anyone would know around how much I'd save per day/month switching over to say... 4 60w fluorescents or however many I'd need. Thanks ahead.

The flourescents add time on to your flowering period so you will probably spend more money using flourescents in the long run than your HPS. Plus you are cutting your light to less than half of what you normally have with a 600 watt HPS so you may not be happy with the results.

Wow, 30 something dollars. Its not I can't afford that, its I don't want the electric company get suspicious why there, out of nowhere is a 30 dollar increase in energy. Do you have any examples to keep me more.... calm about it?

Shouldn't you be more paranoid about your ISP recording each visit to this website ? Not that they do it on purpose, just how the software works, remember the patriot act, the government can request all your internet records at anytime.

Just pay your bill and don't steal electric and there is nothing to worry about.

Ya just pay, don't steal. The electricity is monitored by computers anyway, just like our ISP reports. The only way to get caught is by having a suspicous cop lurking around, and then they check your bill, if it's high enough, then they use that to obtain a warrant. Then your fucked, but the only way they would be suspicous is if your obvious, just stay stealthy and don't blabber to anyone.

Wow, hps by far! Half the light, half the buds. 600 watt hps is = to large stove, microwave, big screen tv, dryer ext... So if you got a big screen tv and ran it for a long time every day,it would be the same.. So do the little things to keep your bill down to compensate for the grow lights. IE turno off all lights, tv ac ext when not used... Make sense?

$30 difference on your bill is fucking laughable to ANYONE, even a whole team of cops would not blink over that little tiny bit of increase. Your gonna have to be using THOUSANDS of dollars more than the average to warrant ANY attention at all. Your safe.
