Default Sealing vent ducts

Ok. I need to run an exhaust on my cabinet. I have a 4" hole I cut in the top. I purchased some 4" duct to run off my exhaust fan. Obviously just putting the duct in the hole won't create a seal. I need to keep light from getting in the cabinet.

Should I use some silicone? Possibly black silicone?
