SOOOOOO,

This will be my second grow, and I am excited! My first was one plant that I grew to almost 5.5 feet tall in a closet (an unkown strain, mostly sativa). She didn't yield much, only a bit over an ounce, though it was KILLER WEED. Once I hot-boxed a bathroom with a friend using a gram in a j, and after about 3 hits I ended up singing at the top of my lungs. WIERD SHIT.

This time around, I am going to hollow out an old dresser that I have, and stick the panels back on so that it looks completely normal. The USABLE measurments are 45"H X 35"W X 20"D, so I am trying to decide what to do with this space. Here are my few things I'd like advice on:

1. LIGHTING- I would like to use HID for maximum potential. I don't know what size I should get though, since I have read numerous things. There are a couple of things to consider. I was thinking that I would get a cooltube and run a fan through ducting, that way I could us a big boy 1000W HPS. I would cover the inside in mylar then, so there'd be no leaks and maximum refelctivity. Is that too much juice? I dunno...you guys tell me what would be good! I also heard that to start for seedlings I should just use some CFL's. Eh?

2. GROW SETUP- For this, I think I am pretty set on using Aeroponics with a bubbler type. I like the idea of individual pots, with a suspended roots thing....though I am a complete noob to aero/hydro. With the space, I think I could get probably about 3-4 medium large plants or 6 smaller ones. They'd start in a rockwool cube I think, and then I'd go to a net pot filled with expanded clay pellets. WTF should I do??????

3. VENTILATION- So if I used the cooltube idea, would that keep the area cool enough? I would still have a couple small fans on the inside for air circulation, though should I vent these to the outside?

4. ODOR- How is the best way to take this out? My last plant could be smelled through almost the entire apartment unless the doors were closed, and that was just ONE! Would just sticking a couple boxes of baking soda in there get all the odor out? Or do I need something more elaborate?

5. STRAIN- So I think I made it somewhat clear that I reallllly like the sativa high, though they get tall! I saw this one strain called PPP on Nirvana, and that looked sweet. What would you guys think for my space/preferences?

Well I can't think of anything else yet, though there will be something I am sure. Please help, and I'll probably start a journal if I can get this going!

as far as odor all you need is a carbon filter, you can probably pick up the parts cheap at lowes or homedepot and custom build one. heres a link to a post on the forums about building one, 2 minute cheap & easy carbon filter (no duct tape)

this one is cheap and easy and small, probably something you would need. if you were to step up your grow some there are bigger ones that you can make.

I think 1000 may be too much heat even with a cool tube in that small space. Maybe a 400 or 600 watt HPS.
