I'll preface this by apologizing for the cliche thread title.

So I'm tired of trying to find really good pot to help with my joint pain, so I decided one day to get a clone from someone. I should have started the journal a while back, but hey, what can you do?

I have attached some pictures of my setup and plant in chronological order, but I have the inconvenient task of trying to jam all of the information into one post, which kind of sucks, but here goes:

I got the clone and right away I noticed yellowing around some of the leaves and a definite big and growing dead spot on the offshoot towards the bottom of the stalk. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, and I tried to keep it from getting too close to the lights to avoid burning.

Originally, I put it into a box covered with white paper with a small air hole and a fan blowing in for some circulation. There were two 27 watt compact fluorescents on her for the beginning. I'm not really how old she was when I got her (and its definitely a she, I've seen her mother and WOW what a beauty!) but I estimate about 5 days to a week since it was finished re-rooting to the point where the growing medium was placed into a cup with fox farm soil.

As you can see, it looked ok at that point but the yellowing was really annoying me and worrying me. There were definitely some bad things going on. But, the plant began to flourish in all of its new growth, with the original leaves very slowly deteriorating. Finally, a nice dark green leaf sprouted and started bringing a lot of confidence to me.

I got to thinking, and I decided that for this to really work, I'd have to drastically change the environment for the plant to really grow like I want it. I got a 100 watt compact fluorescent fixture and bulb and screwed it in to an adjustable-in-height wood shelf in another room which is vacant. I now have that 100 watt over the main plant and some seedlings, mostly from really dank bags ive gotten over the past months and two I know for sure are Bling Kush. The funny thing is I don't even know the particular strain for my main plant, but all I know is that the mature ones sure are nice. Huge colas and solid yielders. I also have two 27 watt compact fluorescent lamps and one 40 watt pointing it more towards the stalk instead of the canopy, which seems to truly be thriving under this 100 watter. FYI this 100 watter puts out 10,500 lumens compared to a 1000W incandescent putting out 13,000 lumens. I would actually highly recommend it especially for the early vegetative stuff. In a couple of weeks I'm going to buy a high pressure sodium light setup, either 400 or 600 watt. Either way I don't need it yet...

For the past week and a half (I've been going at it for about 2 weeks) I've been giving the main plant 200 ML of water with high nitro bat guano (1 TBsp/Gallon) and the new growth has an amazingly healthy look to it. The top leaves are so dark they almost have a violet hue. I've also seen violet colored stripes on the stalk.

I bought an air conditioner for the room because when I got a thermometer and a humidity measurer combo it said the room was 92 degrees. The temperature hovers around 75-79f and the humidity ranges from 45-55%, mostly controlled by regulating air movement with a fan.

I also FOUND, yes FOUND, a weed plant growing outside. I uprooted it gently digging around it, and put it in a cup with fox farm soil. It was extremely droopy for the past 4 or 5 days but its finally perking up, so we'll see how that turns out haha.

Anyway, I decided to prune the plant and get rid of the yellowing and drying stuff. Ever since I have, the nodal growth and general growth along the stalk and the canopy has exploded and the yellowing stopped and didnt go past where I made cuts. Fungal growth maybe? I'm not sure. As a precaution towards aphids or mites and what not I also got a bunch of ladybugs and they chill and make the plants really fun to watch. I'm thinking about getting a preying mantis too because i've read they dont eat lady bugs and have a friendly curious nature, so that would be hilarious.

So yeah, thats where I'm at right now. Any thoughts or suggestions about the setup and process? I'm here to learn.

P.S. I have some seeds on the way from nirvana shop, AK48 and White Rhino. Ooooo this will be fun.

Thanks!

I also think I'm going to veg this thing until I can bust off about 10 solid clones and then let it recover then flower it, so this might be a loooong grow in the making, but after seeing how much this baby is thriving I can't hardly resist the temptation to clone the hell out of it!

Is smoking weed around your plants good for them? I've heard that it is, does the smoke have considerable CO2? I know it has C......

Either way I love nothing more than hanging out in this very comfortable (temperature wise) room and smoking with my plants.

if ya got some good genetics that are reacting well, it would be a shame not to clone

So I started germinating the seeds about 50 hours ago, 5 of each strain.

The larger seeds are the white rhino and currently 4 out of 5 has begun sprouting, with one holding out on me I'm giving those another 24 hours before potting them in some fox farm soil.

As for the AK-48 seeds, which are considerably smaller, all 5 gave sprouted and I have potted them and put them with the rest of the forest.... I can't wait to see them pop out!

As for the plant that I found, it has really perked up and started vegetating. I'm excited to see it start showing some sexual characteristics.

The main plant is growing ever vigorously and looks like a total champ. Also seeing a lot of future clone sites! about 4 branches with 3+ nodes!

Total plants potted: 19

Seeds germinating: 5

I'll post some pics in a bit.
