well this is my second journal the first one went better than i could have wished given all the fuckups on my part, including cutting them down about a week too early you can check the pics either in my gallery or in my signature links you to the first journal. this time around i have a dedicated room that im using instead of an apartment closet. Im being a little ambitiouse for my second grow but no guts no glory, the set up im using this time will i hope yeild me about a qp every two weeks which would be perfect for my needs. any ways here's some pics of my five jock horrors that are going right now and from what i've heard should be some dank shit. the seedlings are 10 days from seed in the pictures. anyone know why two of the seedlings have a reddish stem and the other three don't? just curiouse couldn't find any info on it.

update on the progress had three of the five form some weird shapes to their leaves don't really know why, but from the looks of it the leaves that were supposed to form next to the main finger of the leaf combined, and the two that didn't and are growing normally i transplanted into larger pots hopefully those two will be my mothers, the other three i think i'll take a few clones during sexing of my five right now, and if the two i hope to be females is, i'll just flower the three, but if i need too i'll keep those as mothers, all im hoping for is 2 out of five so i should be good.

so a few days have gone bye since the last post, started having some minor nute burn, and i couldn't figure out why, turns out my pen wasn't calibrated to the right conversions, so after i got that fixed, i realized my ppms were at abour 600, when i thought they were about 350, so no my ppms are in check and the babies started growing again, i thought something was wrong. hopefully i didn't stunt my plants, and i noticed that when i did lower my ppms the stems turned a bit purple, my temps don't go below 70 at night so the temp didn't cause this, i figured they just needed a boost of P, so I added some Fox farm cha-ching and they seem to be going back to green slowly, hopefully thats all it was.

so the nute burn stopped but my ppms were still going up so i dropped them to 315 yesterday and i woke up this morning and they were at 300, good news and there seems to be good growth now, got the heat in check with an a/c, hopefully things keep going good. caught a single thrip in the garden though, but applied an organic insecticide that my hydro shop guy recommended.

so its been about another week, and i've realized what i think my problem was, i've read about rez maintanance but i thought it was only to adjust ph and to top off with water usage, but i wasn't adding new nutes on a daily basis, then i read the old faq from overgrow and it explained it in a way i could easily understand, that the plants will select which nutes they need from the solution and if there isn't enough of certain elements it would show difficiencies. so with better res maintance i've seen a 24hr turn around from where they were a day or two ago. it seems they are starting to show sex but will have to wait a few more days to tell for sure. currently im running a ppm of about 550, thinking this might be a bit low for their stage of growth, but will keep upping it weekly now. also pulled the weakest of the 5 and transplanted to soil to try and save it, looking better but still much smaller than the rest.

so i guess you learn from experience and as this is my first hydro attempt things arn't going too bad, realized i was under nuting bad as well as not maintaining the res correctly so i had a pretty good scare thought i might loose all of my plants, but after getting things fixed and back on track the new growth looks good, all have shown presex, ended up with three out of five turning out female,

so i moved the three females to flower and they've been in there for two days. i germed 4 more that i have in veg, hopefully these i can grow without stunting them. Not that they didn't pull out of it, but always trying to make things better. here's the pix of the three in flower.

so its been a while since i updated this, but only ended up with two females, and here they are at 4 weeks, about another 5 to 6 weeks and looking promising. the smell is something else too, kind of a lemon/pine with a slight hint of cannabis, definatly not the skunky smell i was expecting.

keep on posting...they look pretty good,i'm growing currently jock horror and white widow in soil...4 weeks in flowering now....the horrors seem to be little slower compared to WW's!

much slower, but supposedly jock puts on most of its weight in the last two weeks. and is supposed to be an 9-10 week strain so im just about half way through.

That's a really nice grow you've got. Must admit I sort of skimmed because I followed here from your thread about harvesting early. I wouldn't harvest any time soon. Just by looking at your pistils(hairs) I can tell you are are right on track for the expected 9-10 week finish time. If you want a reference, you can check out the link in my sig and skip towards the end to see how the buds finish. They do go through a final swell just before maximum ripeness that you don't want to miss out on. You'll probably want to wait until virtually all of the pistils go brown which usually takes a good 3-4 weeks from when they start to turn. I'm about to get started on a batch of jock seeds myself. I've seen too many awesome jock buds like yours to sit on the sidelines any longer!:peace:

yeah like i said in my other thread, i sampled a lower bud just to see how she's comming along and i must admit it was a pretty nice head high even with quick drying in the oven it still did the trick nicely with out being to harsh, so i cant wait till they are fully mature and cured.

heres the pics of my veg side i have four going hopefully mothers i plan to clone them in about a week or so after their next growth spurt, they are lst'd and topped which helped the branching problem i was having with them.
