Here is my attempt at growing some legit Big bud.
the plants sprouted out of the ground 8 days after germination, I let veg for 18 days because of the light penetration of CFL's. since the plants will triple/ quadruple in size the plants will reach at least 15-20 in.(38-51cm) and hopefully be loaded with some buds, i started with:
1.5 42w 5100k
2.1 42w 6500k
3.2 13w 6500k
then yesterday i started flowering with:
4.5 42w 2700k
5.2 23w 2800k
6.1 42w 5100k

all in all the lumen output is about 22,400 and there is about 340 watts of CF.
the plants are from seed to day 17, today is day 19 of the grow.

You'd better get more light,alot more light,the big bud strain grows fast & heavy,your room allready looks under light,when they hit their growth spurt they will fill the entire area.

I just finished up some big bud,they ended up topping out around 4ft tall & bushy as hell,fat ass buds too,see avatar .

do you think i will be able to keep them under those lights long enough to sex?
or is that gonna fuck up their growth all together? how many watts do I need minimum because my buddy has a 500w hps and has 10 budding plants under it. thnx


I'm thinking about picking out the two nicest looking plants and moving the rest outside, the only reason why i haven't done that yet is because i don't wanna move 3 females out and keep two males(hypothetically speaking). If i kept two good plants what are the probabilities that at least 1 would be female? unfortunately the answer is probably 50/50, but if any one has any suggestions let me know, thanx

Today is day 29 and day 11 fowering
there is 1 confirmed female!

I only have enough light to keep two really nice plants so i decided to angle my lights to get 2 beautiful females rather than buy lights for 4 plants and watch 2 of them be male anyways.
these are the two i focused em' on
the one in the back is the one that has shown its sex



I watered them a little today for the first time in a little less than a week
I hope to sex the other plants soon to focus my lights on the right lady.

Any thing at all would be appreciated

What exactly are you looking to hear,if it were me i'd get more light even for 1 single plant,you WILL NOT realize the max potential of your grow with cfl's no matter what anybody says,break down & buy a 400 watt complete HPS system for $150 & flower the hell out of them,even with a single plant once its been in bud for 6 weeks it will still be starving for light & you'll be adding more lights then or ending up with loose fluffy buds.

If you took those pics in your room with a 400 watt hps running the pics would be too brite to even see anything,there in lies the difference between hps & cfl.

Aside from the light everything else looks ok.

You should be fine with even a 250W HPS setup.

I cut down the plant which i thought looked the worst and have pushed 3 under the lights i also bought 2 more 42w 2700k's so I now have a total of 359 watts

this is what they look like today i have had to move the chains up every day, I'm gonna think positive because i have spent way too much money on these cfl's to just say fuck it and buy a 400w hps, I would love to, but I cant afford it right now, the 3 of them look really happy and all 3 have plenty of bud sites starting to form
